Battery Operated Toy Train
Nandankanan Zoological Park in Bhubaneswar, Odisha commissioned Amuse Engineering Ride to supply and commission a Battery Operated Toy Train to serve as a comfortable and enjoyable transit attraction across their expansive zoo grounds. The train provides visitors — particularly families with young children — a relaxed and scenic way to navigate the park while enjoying the natural surroundings.
The train set comprises one engine with a tender and four passenger bogies, offering a total seating capacity of 72 adults per trip. Each bogie accommodates 20 passengers on fibre moulded seats, with low voltage ceiling lighting, right-side entry and exit doors on all bogies, and hydraulic brakes on all wheels for safe and controlled operation at all times.
The battery operated electric drive system with variable speed transmission delivers smooth, quiet, and emission-free operation — well suited to the zoo environment where minimal noise and zero exhaust emissions are essential for the comfort of animals and visitors alike. The train operates at a recommended maximum speed of 6 km/h, with a minimum turning radius of 20 metres and a 610mm narrow gauge track, designed to navigate the park’s natural landscape comfortably at full passenger load. Amuse Engineering Ride’s scope covered the complete train set supply along with full on-site commissioning, track testing, and operator handover.
